I recently picked up a Golden Tee Fore! 2005 "home edition" cabinet. It's not the cheap-ass tiny monitor version you see at Costco, but rather an actual IT GT Fore! 2005 kit installed in a 3rd party cabinet. The cabinet is modeled off a dedicated GT Fore! cabinet but has only has a door in the front, no coin slots or mechs. It is also slightly shorter. When I got it I was given the usual line of crap (was working a couple months ago but stopped... the game plays and you can hear it in the background but you can't see it but the monitor works, etc...).

When i got it home I was less than surprised when it didn't fire up. It would start to boot then turn off. A swap of the ATX power supply got it to fire and it sure did play blind... well... sort of. It was there on screen but the image was so dim you could barely see it and the colors were all off...

This is the best pic I could get with the monitor brightness at full...as you can see...there were also some image geometry issues as well.

I ordered a cap kit from Bob Roberts. He sent along 12 caps total... much fewer than what are on the board, but after installation, I guess that is all I needed! The image looks beautiful! The cabinet is in fantastic shape as well. Overall I am VERY pleased with this pickup.

Now to figure out the most economical way to get to Fore! Complete...

Wait, the green monitor issue was merely a cap issue?!? Sweet! Congrats, bro. The picture on your monitor looks very rich and strong. Mine is a bit washed out. I need to cap it but have been putting it off. I wish my kit had 12 caps! :) Mine's a 7500 with like 40.

I love my Goldentee too. I just got the Complete, totally worth it. I had 2005 too and the courses are a little ho-hum. But, still fun.

I like how yours look, it's cool.

I noticed the backup HD I picked up from a KLOVian has a newer revision number than the one in the cab. Does anyone know where I can find out what each revision fixed/added?

I buddy of mine got one these from Sears years ago. I too was surprised that it was actually a "real" GT. If I remember correctly he said the difference was it did not come w/ a modem....not that it matters now, of course....

Not sure if there is a modem in it or not... unless it's onboard there is not from what I see... BUT it DID come with a long phone line...
