I have a 04 Golden tee Fore game. Recently had the monitor repaired because picture was fuzzy. Now after putting the monitor back in all i get is a blue screen. I know nothing about how this machine works, it was given to me by a friend. I have a green board and I can tell you which lights are lit up but that's about it. I also replaced the hard drive with a Barracuda ATA III.
Can anyone help me at all?? Please email me if you can help or post a reply...any ideas form any of you much more knowledgable people that me would be appreciated!

Does the new hard drive have GT 2004 loaded onto it? Did you replace anything or touch anything after you put the monitor back in?

Can you hear the game play? We need to know what monitor is in it, but check the neckboard for a blue drive pot and turn it down.

I fixed a GT monitor not long ago that was dim beforehand and completely green after. Seems they had the green pots turned all the way up before, and the rebuild made it super green, and just needed to be turned down...

no, can't hear the game play at all. Not to sound dumb but, neckboard? Will look and try to find what kind of monitor...

the neck board is the small board that plugs into the neck (skinny, round part) at the back end of the monitor. The board is usually around 5-7" square.

Ok, its a Hitachi 26 in med res monitor.
Type 68KRG58X if that helps any. Can't hear the game running and tried turning down the blue but still nothing.
The hard drive that I bought on Ebay was specifically for 2004 Golden Tee, actually has stickers on it from the game.
Any other ideas? Graphics card?

I think the blue screen points to the hard drive. If it was playing, but fuzzy, why did you replace the hard drive? If the old hard drive was working try swapping it back on to the game. If not make sure the hard drive cable is connected good at both ends.

Even without a hard drive connected or a bad drive you should still get something on the screen during POST. It should give you a "detecting IDE hard drive" display. If your not getting that, then you have a board or video card issue (or both).

Here's the deal. When I got the game it was working but the monitor was fuzzy. Then it had a power surge of some kind and and the hard drive was shot.
So I ordered the new hard drive, put it in and it worked but still fuzzy. Then the monitor went to a black screen. Sent the monitor out for repair, got it back and all I had was the blue screen. Thought maybe the hard drive went bad so I ordered another one and put it in but all I still have is the blue screen. Tried putting the 1st hard drive back in and it's the same, just blue.

I'm not knowledgable in this kind of stuff at all and have no idea how to test or anything like that. I can send a pic if that would help anyone or can tell you what lights are lit on the board. If it is a graphics card, how would i determine that and how do I know what to try and find to replace it?

I really appreciate all the people replying and trying to help me!! Keep it up please??

Are you sure you reconnected the monitor properly?

have you tested the voltages coming out of the power supply?

As far as I can tell we put the monitor in right. How do you test the voltages? Just with a regular voltage tester? Want me to send a pic of anything?

You would test the voltages with a digital multi-meter. The power supply puts out both AC and DC voltages, so set your DMM accordingly. Put the black lead on the "COM" and red lead on the tab you want to test (i.e. +5 Volts DC).

tested the voltages and they are good. Next idea to try?

I could find out, don't know off hand. A friend's brother deals with vending and arcade machines. He took it and sent it out to his repair guys..

you said power surge, maybe your boards got fried. I might have an extra GT 4 HD i could give you if you paid shipping and I would make sure it worked 100% first, one of these smarter guys might say if this is a good idea or not.

Already tried 2 new drives, not sure if another is the way to go but what would it cost? I'm in PA. How do i find out if it's a board issue? Or maybe a graphics card? Should the IDE activity light be on or not? How do you run a diagnostic on it? Hold in Start button when you turn it on, right?
Thanks for trying to help me!!
