Hey Guys I have couple questions about some Golden Tee PCBs. First I'd like to point out that I have a completely working 100% Golden Tee 2005 fore installed in my cab right now. S0 now onto some questions...

First question is, I have two green 2005 PCB's... One has the big processor located just below and to the right of the green LED and one does not? They both load and start the game fine. Any reason why there was such a large chipped added? Or possibly cost reduced out. I do not know what board was created first.

Second question is on one these pcbs (the one missing the U6 Processor) I cannot roll left or right... i.e. switch clubs, enter initials...etc. This is a new issue, out of the blue one day. Any idea where to look for faults. Again, I have tested this with a known working trackball.

The third and final question is about a 2006 Complete Pcb I have, pictured below. I have the Arcade services compact flash drive installed and a 2.09 boot eprom. When I power cycle the machine, I don't ever get any activity light at the LED close to the IDE slots. Then all four Red Leds' stay solid red. I've cleaned and socketed everything, including the video card, as well as swapped with a know working video card. Same results each time. Any help would be appreciated.

The board with the Extra CPU is a tournament board

You could have a failed buffer chip on the inputs. (This happens)

Has this board ever worked? The Red LED's are nothing there modem lights. you can remove the modem as it will never be used again. Also this could cause it not to boot if it is damaged.
There are 2 GREEN led's one next to U53 and the other by the Boot EEPROM, What are these doing?

Thanks for the input. I have never seen the 2006 complete working. It does have the G4C-US-U installed but I had suspected that it may have been placed in the socket by a previous owner who did not quite understand the conversion. I'll take a look a look at the Green LED's and see what they do. I might also try to put a G45-US-U chip in there and see if it boots with 2005.

I have the same problem with the trackball with my complete green board.First it wouldn't go up or down now it doesn't go any direction.
Trackball was changed for a new one same issue.Trackball was tested on 2009 silver strike as working.
Who repairs these boards on here?I got two now that need repair.

If you have a SMD rework station there not hard to replace the Buffer chips. there are 3 that can fail near the JAMMA connector. I have fixed several of these in the past, it takes about 15 min. BUT ifthat doesn't fix the issue you could have a faulty FPGA or Xlinx chip that is a shit repair and not worth the time to fiddle.

Usually when you have a bad Xlinx it will say HD detected and just sit there forever... It's a custom chip so you'd need a known working one from another board if you need to replace it. Pretty much not worth fixing if you don't have another donor board and or hot air station.

We have found that the trackball plug that plugs into the logic board may have dirty pins...slide each of the little pins out and use a fiberglass eraser or emery cloth and clean those pins one by one...the trackball may work fine again....

I had a chance to revisit this pcb recently but didn't resolve any issues. I replaced all three buffer chips on the input U23, U24 and I forgot the other one and the same Issue persists. Not sure what else I can swap in to check.

Curious if there is a way to switch to trackball #2 just to rule out any of those components in that area of the board?

Honestly, email IT... they answered me the couple of times I hit them up about issues I've had with their PCBs even though they are old. The person who answers will usually tell you where the issues may lie. I would have used them to fix my bad HD controller on my board, but they wanted $150 plus cost of parts to fix it. It was just cheaper to get one on Ebay or here.
