I purchased a GT complete from a guy on CL. It was a whole kit with led and all the stuff.

I plugged it in and am afraid that I got hosed. My question is does the Security chip have to have a G4C label on it to be a Complete, or are people flashing these to create completes?

If it is a flashed chip and not one from the factory, how can I tell if the board is indeed a complete or not?

Thanks for your help

Chris

btw my sec chip says G42-US-U I think it's for a GT 2002

Well, the G42-US-U is from the Fore series and Complete is part of that series....but I'm no Golden Tee wiz to say for sure if that is the right one for GT Fore Complete.

Have you tried setting it up ?

Long story short.

I have it set up and it's restarting after the screen that tells the hardware version and software version. It boots fine, then when about to initialize the first screen, it restarts.

This has been a bit of a Charlie Foxtrot if you know what I mean.

First the HD bombed out on me, and I got an imaged HD to replace, I also put a new PS on it to make sure that wasn't the problem. Now I'm just wondering if the board is actually not a complete board, and that's why it's restarting.

According to IT the security chip needs to say G4C for it to be a complete.

I am attaching the info screen for anyone to take a look at and give me advice.

Thanks,

Chris

Here is the U-53 pic.

Could a bad video card, or pcb be causing the restart.

You've been hosed. That is a 2002 and not a complete. If you do a chd image of 2002 you will probably get the game to stop resetting. It won't run with a complete hard drive.

Take it back to the guy and get your money back. You know where he lives right?
