Power applied Game appears to come up with message saying "detecting IDE Harddrive" counting up to 35 error message appears NO HARDDRIVE DETECTED code 2 will reset in 10 secs or press start. After 10 secs big red box saying NO SIGNAL then resets back to detecting IDE harddrive goes thru sequence again. Pressed start button on startup the big red box saying NO SIGNAL appears. This is a golden tee with the green board. I replaced the hard drive with a known good Harddrive, same messages. Check the power into the harddrive from the power supply. Red wire (+5vdc) the Yellow wire (+12vdc) I have reseated all the cables NO LUCK. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks for helping

You DO have the proper security chip installed to match the HD, right?

Have you tried replacing the ribbon cable?

Golden Tee Harddrive failure

Ribbon cable replaced - still same problem - replaced harddrive with flash drive still does not detect harddrive. - even though I have the correct voltage going to the harddrive maybe I still have a power supply problem with the board. Thanks for responding

I have the same problem

I have the same problem, did anyone figure this out? I'm new here and stumbled onto this website trying to figure this out. Got the game from a buddy of mine, just quit one day is his story, i'd played it a hundred times so i know it worked fine. bought a upgraded HD with the extra courses on it but didn't fix the error. any suggestions? thanks.

Still have same problem

I have had this same problem. Golden tee working one day, next I get hard drive not detected. I have replaced power supply, ribbon cable, hard drive. I know both the old and new drives work because I can attach them to a PC and see the partitions. Any other ideas? Can the board just go bad one day? I have a green PCB.

The jumpers for slave/master have to be set right on the hard drive, too. I don't think you can set it on cable select, I think you have to set it to Master to get it to work.

Jumpers

Understood. The jumpers on the original HD were never moved from when everything was working. I have the jumpers on the new HD set at the same pins as on the old drive.

read the label on the top of the drive for jumper orientation. heh they're not all the same from manufacturer to manufacturer --- sometimes even same manufacturer, but different model.

Master on one drive could be Cable Select on another. just saying. other hard drives will have certain compatibility features on the jumper block too, I don't know if these games have hard drives big enough to have such a monster however.

Nevermind, I fixed my issue, was a little surface mount chip infront of the ribbon cable connections on the board that had a little corrosion, was able to clean it up and add a little solder and it appears to be working now

Im not sure why corrosion was terrible with those boards, i think because of the golden tee fore cabinet and drinks etc leaking on the board, video cards also ran super hot i would advise adding a fan on top the heat sink of the voodoo2 card they used i believe
