If my hard drive was bad, would the program still run and tell me my HD is bad? Im getting proper voltages, got 12 volts at U15 but no HD activity light. Status 2 is blinking and status 1 is solid. Ive tried 2 different boards and they both do the same. It also has a new power supply as well. Any help would be super.

Usually a bad hard drive will cause it to reboot over and over, and sometimes you can hear the HD being noisy. It will start booting, do the "Detecting HD" or Detecting Image or whatever it does 3 times, then reboot.

You could check your IDE cable, and make sure you have power at the HD power connector.

Also, make sure the security chip matched the version on the HD...

Ok. Ill check the cable. But if you unplugged the hard drive all together, shouldn't you get somthing on the screen like no hd found?

Not really. It gives you a couple CPU boot up lines, then goes into IDE drive detection. If nothing is detected, then it times out and reboots - over and over....
