New to the arcade owning fun. Bought a 2005 Golden Tee last weekend. Played a hole and everything seemed fine. Brought it home and noticed that as we played 18, the picture got blurrier and blurrier until the wind speed, yards to hole, etc was completely illegible. Also, not sure where exactly the picture adjust controls are. Any help would be much appreciated.

On the back of your monitor, you'll see a large black transformer with two pots on it that can be adjusted. The top pot is for adjusting the focus. The bottom is for adjusting the brightness.

The other controls should be on a remote circuit board mounted on the drawer under your control panel near the power supply. Reach in through the coin door and unsnap the snaps you see near the back, and the entire control panel will slide out and up. Pull it out until you can lower the front to parallel to the floor and look for tat remote adjustment board.

Also, when you moved it, it's possible that the neckboard on the monitor came loose during transport. With the power off, open the back door and check to make sure the small square board on the monitor neck is seated fully. Just push it straight back onto the neck. If you flex it or apply sideways pressure, you can reak the neck (you'll here a hissing sound and your monitor will stop working)...

Thanks! Will definitely give all that a try tonight and give you an update...

What kind of monitor is it? If if is a neo tec then your flyback more then likely, is flakey. I have seen this also with wells gardner u2000-u5000 flybacks.
Start by adjusting your pots and go from there.
Also take off your edge connector on your board and reset it back on. I have seen many video problems caused by the cheap pins in the connector. It will not give you focus problems but a weak picture along with missing colors sometimes.

Okay, update: I played with the controls and got it to look right on. Unfortunately, about 15 minutes in, the focus begins to blur and goes downhill quickly (can't see the ball in flight, wind direction, distance to the cup, etc). This happens consistently (if we turn it off and let it sit for a few hours, it starts clearly again, then blurs) so I'm guessing its not a connection issue. I'm at work so I don't have the model of the monitor with me, but what sort of parts should I be looking at to replace to get a clear, crisp picture all the time?

I'm definitely no guru on this matter, but I believe I've read about other people having a similar issue and it was the flyback. I'd wait for someone else to confirm instead of doing anything on my say-so, though.

Haven't tried anything with the flyback, yet. Will dust it off and give it a look tonight. Thanks again for the help.
