Hello KLOV world, I have a problem with my Golden Tee 2005 arcade. It makes it to the "How would you like to play your course" screen every time, and freezes when you make a selection. It has been in my garage for a week now, it's dry in there but I'm thinking moisture might have gotten to the board, but if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

If it freezes always at the same spot every time, my first inclination is "ROMs/hard drive" whichever is applicable. But that's the thing -- I SUSPECT that it runs on a PC based on its age, and as such should have a restore CD/DVD you can image a new hard drive from, but that's not only the case, and I don't know for sure it's a PC.

If I had a little more info I could help. Check the manual envelope for a CD or DVD. Pictures of the computer? I'd know for sure if it's PC-based from one good shot of the mainboard.

It is based off of a hard drive. There are discs in the cabinet that you can image onto the hard drive. I will re-image the hard drive and see if that works. Thank you.

if it has physical damage to the drive in that spot, reloading may not work..

id replace the drive personally, they arent much money.l

If it ends up not bieng a drive, my boss will be upgrading his gt05 xtra( thats 7 courses instead of 5) to complete soon, so i will have a gt05xtra board and drive for sale within a few weeks here..

when my power supply was going out it did the same thing.

check your voltages or if you have an extra known working computer power supply drop it in and see what happens.

you may need to check your voltages right at boot up to see if there is a drop.

Yeah these are very tricky, it could be the hard drive or the power supply. Is it a red board, or a green board? If it's a green board, turn the power supply up slightly and see if that makes it behave better, if it's a read board it needs a pretty powerful computer power supply.

With that said, though, since it does it in the same spot I would lean towards it being a damaged hard drive. you can pick them up on ebay for $25 bucks or so.
