I am at the point in my Golden Axe rebuild where I am trying to wire up the coin door to the JAMMA wire harness. I am trying to reuse the connector that were hacked off from the original Sinister cabinet (not by me) and using the Sinistar Drawing Set as a pin guide. The coin door side of the connector is intact (8P2) but I am looking to wire up 8J2 to the JAMMA harness. The 8J2 connector pin descriptions are split on two pages, p13 (Cabinet Wiring Diagram) and P12 (Power Wiring Diagram). Using those two pages I was able to figure out most of where I need to connect to the Jamma harness, but I can't figure out what AUTO-UP, MAN-DOWN, and COIN DOOR ADVANCE are supposed to do/mean.

I tried to ask Google, but all I got was pages and posts about old school video game console controllers with auto fire buttons.

Can anyone shed some light on this naming system Williams used?

Williams games have buttons inside coindoor for navigating the service menu.
You won't use them for jamma. You can map one to service and one to test.

I saw those buttons. I was wondering what they were for.

Thanks!

In case anyone in the future finds this thread and is looking for the same advice I ended up using pin12 (HIGH SCORE RESET) and pin14 (ADVANCE) as they are momentary switches, while pin15 (AUTO UP/MANUAL DOWN) is a two position switch. I removed the pin for that one out of the socket and removed the physical switch from the coin door.
