Golden Axe rebuild: trouble with 19k7000 Can a 25k7000 use a 19 inch?

So I'm having a hell of a time getting a 19 inch CRT that plays nice with my 19k7000 chassis. I've gone through five different tubes at this point and there's always some insurmountable problem with folding, horizontal size, or geometry. The last two had the exact same problem width problem with their original yokes. I tried the original k7000 yoke but the image world only show halfway down the tube.

I have a 25K7000 that looks fixable, just seems to need a replacement flyback. The original one is cracked. I'm wondering if I should fix it, but need to know if I can safely hook a 19 inch CRT to it. The hardware in the cabinet configured for a 19, and I doubt a 25 inch CRT would fit even if I had some way to mount it.

no, the picture a 25" K7000 would display on a 19" tube would be roughly relative to the size difference between the screens. you would see maybe the center of the picture and you won't be able to adjust the width down. there's a reason nobody else ever really questions doing this, it's because it's fundamentally impossible.

also, if you're not using an actual K7000 yoke there's always a possibility of having geometry issues. because you measured the ohms and it was "close enough" doesn't make a difference here.

didn't you initially just have some blooming issue that was caused by the game?

Yha, that was me. I could not widen the picture. Got as close as 3/4 of an inch to the edge then the picture works fold over and one of the resistors would start to smoke.

Putting a k7000 yoke on it gave me only half a picture. I'm getting seriously frustrated with this thing. But I am very stubborn.
