I recently acquired a Gottlieb Gold Wings and have great difficulty making the loop in the upper left. Is this common and a difficult thing?

It seems way to difficult as I only get it once every 15 to 20 times I play it.

So, anyone else with knowledge of the difficulty of making the loop?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Rusty

When i first got my goldwings it was disassembled and the loop was tweaked a bit.It took me a few times of bending it trying to get it right. The best i could get it is about 8 out of 10 times.I can only make it if the ball naturally rolls to the flipper,if i miss the ramp and catch the ball and try to re-shoot it i will never make it.If your ramp looks bent up , or the gap doesn't look equal around the top you can try adjusting it, otherwise it is just going to take practice.
My only complaint with this pin is that dam song it plays, it pops into my head and i can't get it out lol.Otherwise it is a blast to play.

I had one a couple years ago, had to look at the IPDB pics to remember what the hell the layout was like. I don't remember having much trouble hitting it, other than you had to get it with the very tip of the flipper otherwise it wouldn't go.

I have no problem making the loop on my machine, and usually make several times every time I play the pinball. Maybe your flipper is a little weak or sloppy?

I spent a LOT of time tweaking the loop on my Gold Wings only to realize that the angle of the upper flipper is the most important thing. It was obvious someone else was in there doing the same thing and the sheet metal was all messed up. Once I tweaked the angle of that flipper I was making the loop consistently. It's important that the loop is installed correctly and the ball flows through smoothly but don't underestimate the importance of the flipper angle.
