Picked up my first slot machine. Isn't she a beauty? Unfortunately, she's a no worky. Everything passes in tests, and the game comes up for about 5 seconds, then pops me to a master lock error. No idea what that means. I found a reference to it in a menu tab labeled sphinx, with "master lock = 12/01/15", but again, no idea what that means. Anyone have some input? I checked over at NLG, no info in the archives, so I posted the same there.

Sounds to me like there could be a main door lock open or main board door / tray.
Power down unplug. Inspect around the locks you should see some wires going to the locks.
There COULD be a master optical lock on the door its referring to as well.
Look on the side of the machine, model and brand of the machine?
As of now we know game title but with a model number might be able to cross reference
Some docs on it.

Also try when ALL DOORS are closed try simply triggering the reset key on it (or shorting those two wires quickly and un short em)
May just need that as well.

Appreciate the input. I have 3 interlocks, one for the pcb tray, one for the bill validator, and one for the main cabinet door. The warning looks very different when those are open, and there's no difference with the door open or closed. Perhaps there's wiring for another switch on the board that isn't connected, but I dont have pinouts. Speaking of which... the data plate on the side says Cadillac Jack (see photo) but the board's proms say MGP-Goldtch spx. I'm betting that spx stands for sphinx, but that term is so generic, it's hard to search. I have found the same board elsewhere as someone mentioned it in an old nlg thread: http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=24807.0

and there's one on ebay right now under auction # 282368204050

I'm noticing that as this board sits running for a while, it has a tendency to lock up. There's an LED on the board that lights when I tap the screen, but it has no effect. Neither of the menu switches works either. Graphics will continue to move on screen though. Weird issue. Assuming this board is toast, can somone recommend a good repair shop that won't cost an arm and a leg or a good replacement board that will interface with the touch screen, color LED screen above the monitor, and serial printer, while hopefully not be too expensive? Don't need anything super new or crazy as it'll just go in my game room.
