My wife and I are making the drive tomorrow. Very stoked.
A few question for anyone that lives up that way;

1. Is there tons of snow on the ground?
2. How are the roads?
3. What else is around there to do that a lady may enjoy?
And the big one....
4. They are open this weekend, right?

If anyone here happens to be around there, stop in and say hi. I'm the guy with a bunch of tattooes.

Thanks!
Mike

I hope to visit Funspot at least once in my lifetime. Too bad it's in the middle of nowhere. Any other points of interest around there that are good enough to convince my wife to make the trip? :)

You have Pac-Man tattoos? That's hardcore.

I'll get there someday as well. Anyone know how many games they're up to now?

1. Yes we have lots of snow still on the ground. It's melting fast but there is still plenty.
2. Roads are great. Our roads are usually perfect within 24 hours after a storm. We all know a plow guy.

3. Not much in the winter unfortunately.
4. They are always open!!

If you enjoy your time at ACAM think about making a donation. They are having a fundraiser right now. This is the first time they have really specifically asked for help money wise for operating costs and after a month only 20 people have stepped up to help.

You can donate at http://www.classicarcademuseum.org/

yeah, i guess it is. it sounds weird, but pac-man has always been a favorite with my family since 1980. my dad still has a bunch of pac-man stuff from back then and we've always enjoyed playing the game together. the arcade was a big bonding back-drop for me and the old man when i was a kid. nowadays, when ever he comes to visit we play a bunch of games, and i'm restoring one for him as we speak.
so i guess the tattoo is almost like a "mom heart" for dad.

Winnipesaukee lake is great in the summer. I'm sure you can hire boats etc. there.

We were on the small beach for a morning in the summer of 2006.

Plans are for a return this summer !!! WOOHOOO !!

Scott,
Thank you for bringing up the fundraiser. We've already been putting the donations to good use. Today I placed a $600+ order for pinball parts with Marco Specialties. The fundraiser runs through March 15th.

Gary :)

Unfortunately DD has gone down hill. They used to make their donuts on site but now they have a main plant that makes them and distributes them to their stores. So if you want a fresh donut you have to get them at 5am.

I've always wanted to go there and have a donut and a famous cup of coffee. You know what pisses me off? They show Dunkin' Donuts commercials here in the SF Bay Area and there aren't even any Dunkin' Donuts here. What's that about?

They used to do that with Sonic and Chick-fil-A commercials over here. I would yell at the TV..."Stop teasing me! Build a store over here, and I'll go!" It must've done some good b/c now there is a Sonic and a Chick-fil-A not too far away.

Moral of the story? Yelling at your TV makes things happen. :p

(BTW, I LOVE Dunkin' Donuts coffee!)

yeah they do that here too. there are 3 dd's in colo springs which is about 75 miles south, but i think they do the commercials cause a) they sell the ground/whole bean coffee in grocery stores, and b) they're planning to expand through out the west in the next 5 or so years.

yeah, i remember when they used to make them on site. i went to our local one in downtown plymouth, ma in '87 in kindergarten, on a field trip, and they let us all make and decorate our own doughnuts.
