This time I want to swap a Matsushita tube onto a Electrohome chassis for my Pole Position. The Matsushita chassis has a blown flyback and a cracked neckboard, and who knows what else. The white plug on the end of the tube was slightly different, but I had an extra one that I swapped and it fit just fine. Now, is there anything I should know about compatibility problems with Matsushita tubes or is a tube just a tube?

The matsushitsa tube is different than a CR-23 compatable chassis. I believe it uses a CR-30 and the pinout for the two is different. You may be able to make it work if you compare the two connectors and cross the signals. Both adaptor outlines are available on this page:

So even though I was able to fit an Electrohome connector on the tube pins, it still wouldnt work?

They have the same number and arrangement of pins but the pins (circuits) are not in the same order. If you build an adaptor you should be able to make it work though.
