Other than buying/selling cartridge games, we want to do the same with consoles. I just bought a big collection of NES games and console. Whats the going rate with 2 controllers and wiring? should I include a Zapper?

I know that a common thing is going to replace the 72 pin connector. easy to do?

There's a place here in Phoenix that sells used video game stuff. An NES system with controllers and all the wiring goes for about $60.

Not that KLOV isn't a good community...but...if you're going into console game collecting I recommend lurking Digital Press.

Junky NES from a flea market...I pay 10-20 bucks tops. Complete cleaned NES ready to be put into a collection, 60 is about right. Before the economy tanked I sold a complete NES that had been completely cleaned out with new pins, cleaned gun + 2 controllers with SMB+DH, SMB2 and SMB3 (also broken apart and cleaned) for about 150. It was also xmas. On Ebay. So...yeah.

An NES is working condition with controllers and wires can go for $40 - $60 on eBay. I remember about 10 years ago when NES collecting was really hot, original toaster style consoles were going for $60 - $80 and top loaders were going for $120 - $150. The market has cooled off now, and prices on top loaders have come down substantially. You can find top loaders on eBay now for around $50.

How much do the top-loaders fetch? Thinking of selling mine.

Nevermind just read the post minutes before this one..

i've picked up plenty at local garage sales and salvation army for less than $20 normally with a game or more to boot (as well as 2 controllers and light gun).

I was thinking about selling two controller NES Console Sets for $40. Sounds reasonable?

As long as it works and comes with a controller and wires, $40 is not unreasonable, you should find a buyer. As far as a shipping box, I buy boxes all the time at Wal*Mart, they're located in the section with the shipping supplies. A box that would fit the NES should run you about 70 cents.

Thanks, good to know. It'll sell better if the console was boxed with a nice label on it. Thanks for all the help guys.

I've picked up many NES systems in good condition at Garage sales for free. Parents cleaning house just wanting to get rid of them.

We sell them with new pins, 2 controllers, all hook ups and a light gun most the time for 47.99. Also with 5.00 off a game.

that is a really cool thing to offer. i think $40 is totally reasonable for retail. you deserve to make a profit for your effort.

I would hit up a Goodwill. NES, Genesis, and other vintage systems go for about $10 here. I picked up an NES joystick and a NES max joystick for $2.00 each. They let you test onsite and it all worked.
