Looking for help
trying to revive a old pole position monitor dont know if the chassis ever worked come out of the pile if you know what I mean any way I went through and did a complete cap kit [all caps are in right and good soldier joints] found the small fuse was blown replaced that while doing the cap kit. Hooked it up to my test ms pac everything looked good worked about 1-2 min then blew small fuse again replaced again checked all my cap legs to make sure the weren't hitting the chassis nothing so I plug ed it back in you can hear the tube come on then seams to go off almost instantly?? The fly back controls wont make any difference either way

A blown little fuse usually means a bad HOT (2SD870 mounted on the side wall next to the flyback), a bad flyback, or both.

Be careful, as the big cap near the little fuse usually holds quite a charge when the fuse is blown. You should discharge it before working on it (discharge on the side of the fuse closest to the cap). Expect a big bang if your HOT is bad...

Sounds like you have an original flyback and it's going bad. Replace the flyback, horizontal output transistor and the tiny soldered-in fuse and retry it.

Thanks for the help next ques is I probably could round up a fly back from the pile is there a way to test the hot also my fly back at power up seems to have a charge because when I remove the chassis it has a healthy sounding discharge if that means anything.
Being Thursday I don't think even the great Bob can get me my parts to reinstall for this weekend I just wanted to get it out of the way so on to the next thing lol

Putting a used flyback on a G07 is like replacing a bald tire on your car with another bald tire...

The HOT is GENERALLY good if you do NOT read a dead short between the case and the metal frame it is mounted to. If you do read a dead short, the HOT is bad and there is a 99% chance your flyback is what caused it to blow...

Sometimes a G07 flyback will go without blowing the HOT but that is not very common.
