i have a go7 in my pac cocktail. the monitor was dead when i got it. i replaced the flyback and i did a cap kit. the monitor works great! about two months later i turn the game on and i hear the monitor try to power but i won't come on. so i look around to see if the fuse is blown but everything looks good. i hit the side of the cab and turn it back on. now it powers up and works great! about two months later i get the same think! so i think cold solder joint. i reflow everything on the chassis. the monitor works great! about a month later the same thing again!! if i hit the frame and turn it back on it works. does anyone know what i could check? if the hot or power regulator if going out could it cause this? thanks for any help!!

Did you check your solder joints on the regulator and horizontal transistors?

What about the wire on that big ceramic resistor?

i checked all of that. i even added some solder the large resistor and the frame mounted transistors. thats why i'm thinking a component may be on the way out. thanks for the ideas!!

Check the power plug terminals and see if they have been stretched. These monitors get swapped from one game to another over the years. If a wrong connector was forced on it at some point it stretches out the female pins. This will also happen from normal use if the connector has been unplugged numerous times.
Have you checked the pcb for hairline cracks? Also remove the cardboard from the neckboard and check that pcb. I see alot of GO7 neckboards with cracks.

Are you sure it's the monitor? Can you hear the game play while the monitor is out? You may have a loose edge connector on the game PCB and you opening it up and moving shit is making it work again.

Other than that, check that the pins in the power connector aren't a little hogged out, and check EVERY SINGLE LARGE PART for cold solder. Wiggle each one while watching the solder joints.

Also, inspect around the flyback and on the neckboard for any tiny cracks in the circuit board....

go7

thanks for all the ideas. when the monitor wont power up it makes a chage up sound then it goes quiet. if i test the line power on the chassis the voltage is good. when i turn the game off you can hear the monitor power down? when the monitor stops i can hear the game fine. the monitor is original to the cab. the chassis is in very good condition no burn marks or stress cracks. im sure im over looking something simple. i may have to send it to p&l video and just be done with it. thanks again for all the help!!

b+ voltage

when the monitor is working the b+ is 124 volts when the monitor stops working the b+ goes up to 165 volts? any ideas? thanks!!
