On my GO7 chassis, what could cause the big white resistor to crack? Had just replaced the HOT on it and was trying to fix a blind Pac Man Jr, and changing that it stopped one of the fuses from blowing , but now after 5 minutes plugged in, that resistor got so hot , it cracked ?
Help please.....

Could be a lot of things. Something is drawing too much current through the B+ supply. When the monitor was on for 5 minutes, was it working? What's the B+ voltage measure? Does this monitor have a new flyback?

And when you replaced the fuse, did you use the right one, or did you put one in that was too large? F901 is supposed to be 1.25A

NO still no picture, fuse size, I show it to be 1.5 amps, where before i changed the HOT, as soon as the game was turned on the fuse would blow, now it did not, but yet no picture, Flyback, no, have not replaced that. So not sure where else to turn, still a newbe at the repair stuff..

Usually on these monitors when the HOT blows it's because the flyback failed and killed it. The original flybacks on the G07 are high failure rate parts. Inspect it carefully for any evidence of burning, cracks, or heat discoloration. Personally, if I find a G07 with a blown HOT I just change the flyback at the same time.

That said, if you just changed the HOT, a really bad flyback should have fairly quickly blown the new HOT and the fuse. Check the resistor that cracked, see if it's reading open now. Also check to see if the new HOT is shorted.

Also, when you replaced the HOT, did you remember the insulator? You don't want it to short to the heatsink.

There was a two piece "gasket" one a paper like material, and the other was a clear plastic piece, i just reused those off the original.

I've seen that resistor crack from running the monitor without an isolation transformer.
