Should you always change the Hot if the flyback was blown on GO7 CBO? Having trouble finding info on how to test the Hot.

Does anyone know where to find power cords? Whoever had this chassis before me swiped the power cord.

i just use the cord's off of tv's i do tube swaps with.

to test the hot, meter to diode setting, red lead to case of hot, black to frame. you should get .400 to .500

also, just because the flyback blew doesn't mean the hot went with it. sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

you prolly have a blown fuse as well.

I have had both things happen.
I was pleasantly surprised that my last blown flyback only took out the smaller of the 2 fuses but not the hot.

Yeah the small F901 fuse was blown, I've replaced that already. Done a cap kit and replaced the Flyback.

For Diode check on my meter (Triplett 9015-A) it just has a triangle in the instruction book. What does that mean? Beats me. Sorry never understood multi meters to well, wish I knew what everything meant.

A good HOT reading is NOT .400 to .500, it will be a lot higher roughly 1200 to 2000.

If the fly blew, MOSt likely it took the HOT with it

I just did it again by the back of the case like your photo's and still got 1956. I ordered one from Bob should I leave the old one?

i wonder why my meter is giving me such different readings, i think thats the 2nd time you pointed something like that out.

i know for fact my working hot give's me that reading, i wonder what setting i have to change on it for it to display correctly. might as well get a new battery for it as well.

Gotta be your meter Brother.

Fudd thanks for telling me what the Triangle meant, man I didn't have a clue on that one. Just left me scatching the old head.

Thanks for the help Dokert. Bob told me he sent my package out the other day, so I'll have an extra hot and like you said isn't a bad thing.
