so im getting ready to cap a GO7 monitor and had some question, when i turn on the monitor there is a REALLY loud whining sound coming from the monitor and was wondering if a cap kit will fix this problem or is this something else? thanks

Should be just 2 screws

1) Discharge the monitor

2) Unplug the power connector.

3) Unplug the video connector.

4) Remove the neckboard.

5) Discharge again.

6) Remove the anode cup.

7) Remove the two screws.

8) Remove the black wire from where it connects to the neckboard.

9) Unplug the white degauss wires near the fuses.

10) Unplug the yoke connector next to the flyback. (If the connector is not one solid piece, write down the order of how the color wires are plugged in so you can put them back the same way).

11) Remove the chassis.

Put it back in in the reverse order, but discharge between 6 and 7 again...

Is this hooked to a game, and is it working, except for the loud whine? If so, then yeah... I'd say it's the flyback. If the game isn't connected to a signal, or if the horizontal frequency is way off, then it might need the h-sync adjusted. Of course you could try this: http://www.therealbobroberts.net/whiny.html , though I'd just replace the flyback on a G07 if it's making noise and you're already pulling the chassis for a cap kit.
