Hello everyone! I was wondering if anyone has any advice on gloves to wear while playing pinball. I have seen players at the PAPA tournament in Pittsburgh wearing gloves and read that they do that to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome.

I am starting to get carpal syndrome symptoms pretty regularly when I play pinball now. It used to only happen if I played an hour or longer, but now it is happening after even 20 minutes of play.

I didn't really pay attention to the gloves that people were wearing at PAPA. Does anyone know if they are baseball batting gloves, golf gloves, weightlifting gloves, bicycling gloves, etc.

Thanks!

If you already have carpal tunnel symptoms, gloves aren't going to do anything while you're playing. Only rest, ice, therapy, medication and/or surgery will help.

Gloves only help keep the hands and wrists warm, which improves circulation, in turn, promotes healing while at rest. Avoid playing pinball for long periods or take breaks to help with the pain. Anti-inflammatory meds too. FWIW, my wife is a PT/OT and deals with CTS a lot...
