Hello all and good morning/afternoon!!

I recently got some NASCAR's and would like to make them better before passing along to new owner. I was doing some wire maintenance inside, because that stuff drives me nuts when it's just thrown together, and realized the previous owners just had a surge protector passing through instead of using the built in isolation transformer, so I tried to USE that transformer but I'm not getting voltage out.. SO 2 questions:

1.) Is it WORTH fixing/replacing the isolation, or how can I better test it?
2.) Should I just use a surge protector and bypass the isolation transformer all together?

Any and all suggestions related to this project would be welcomed!!

I've seen five of these and two Team Racing, and they all have the power strip. I've never bothered to look at the transformer, but if I'm near one I'll check it out for you.
