This thread is simply awesome. If brought up again in 10 years, it's resurgence should be CELEBRATED.

Well, I think she has 3 kids now, and her centipede sounds like nothin' but net now when something goes through it..

[kidding, I have no idea of this woman's whereabouts]

This one's for you Jawhn! I thought about it but decided not to then I seen your post lmao. Was in another thread talking about something and had a link to this thread because I thought it was to discuss if centipede was really programmed by a woman.. yea.... let's go!

Urban Legend. :)

Ed Logg was almost single handedly responsible for Centipede. Dona Bailey was/is often credited as the programmer because it makes for good marketing. Bailey may have come up with some of the basic ideas, and the color scheme, but Logg has stated that she didn't have the necessary skillls to program a game. Given Logg's well known track record and hers, the truth is pretty obvious.

I find this interesting.

Ed said he did it. And with his ego, what do you think he would say?

She didn't have the skills necessary? Maybe true, maybe not.

How do we know? Has anyone asked her?

I just read / watched both things that @XXI21 (21 21) posted. She said she programmed it.

Let's go to the Atari files and find out the truth.

Do we have a "Hidden Figures" issue here?
