Local pin for sale. Guy is asking $1995. I am thinking its wort, at most, $1500. Thoughts?

Condition condition...

If its nice and mostly ready to go (requires cleaning playfield, a few new lights, new rubber, nothing major), I'd say it could be 1800 or 2000.

If typical pin that needs non basic cleanup but not major, I'd say 1500.

Just my opinion...

Thx. I am having a hard time paying more than 1500 for a 1991 pin that doesn't have a strong collectors value. Guy said he would go $1900. It's currently on e-bay.

I wouldn't go more than about $1500 foe a pristine one. Not a great pin in the grand scheme of things.

those were selling fully working and average condition in the $1100 range a couple years ago.
the problem is, they are not too common and they don't sell often...so the price can vary pending who wants it and when.

I offered less and he said no. It's still for sale. He evidently believes someone out there will pay 2 grand for it. I agree 1100 is about right for it. Seems like, lately, a lot of people are expecting ABOVE top dollar for their machines. I don't believe the market has moved to drive this increased amount. A lot of them are sitting with no bids on places like eBay or even Craig's list.

Everything has gone up, not just the "A" list games. Sure there are some that sit there a while, but you will no longer find most B/W DMD pins in the low $1k. A few years ago demolition man and T2 were selling around $1k. How many of them would sit for sale at $1k today?

Does anyone track these pin values? Is there anyone that does this on a regular basis? Would be interesting to compile a list of Title, purchase date, condition and purchase price. I'm sure there is other data to be had, but tracking this might be interesting.

Mr. Pinball Price Guide has been around for a while. I am not convinced they do a very good job of truly analyzing their data. Determining if a machine is a parts machine, currently working, working but poor condition, or working and in good condition. Finally, some areas of the country are willing to pay premiums for machines due to their cost of living. typically its the large cities. Mr. Pinball is better than nothing, but it is not precise.

Yea, and the average price for a Williams Funhouse, it says, is $2300. Anyone who knows anything about pinball machines would tell you that Funhouse, is NO WHERE near $2300. More like $3300. Additionally, I do not believe anyone bought a Gilligans Island for $2500. My guess is it is a "buy it now" and this site is pulling those in. Same for a $6000 Funhouse.

Did you actually properly read the link I posted? I think you are looking at the wrong column.

According to eBay sales figures, the average sale price for a Funhouse on eBay (in the last 12 months) is $3361.

A lot better pins can be had for around the 2000 mark... Any price guide should be treated the same as completed auctions on Ebay... A guidelines since there are so many factors that make up price for pins, condition being a major player, but dont overlook location as well...

Quses it clearly says average price $2300. You seem to be reading the year to date column. It's February. I would expect Average to mean average.

Djw90, I offered 1400 and the guy turned me down. Agree that's about what it is worth, on the high end.

Reading comprehension is your friend dude... pay attention... (it may be February but the latest data was compiled 11/12 and it says so)

There are multiple average columns. The most accurate column is the second to last in terms of what current prices are going for.

Thanks for playing. Have a year's supply of rice-a-roni! ;)
