I played Ghosts 'N Goblins on NES and C64 when I was a kid, but never experienced this game on an arcade platform until today...
I was absolutely blown away by it...and am left wondering how I have missed out on this game all these years? The game is now my new-found addiction and I definitely want to add a GnG game to the collection as soon as possible now.

What's the going rate on a decent GnG game these days?

Did you play the arcade Ghouls n Ghosts or Ghosts n Goblins?

Cause Ghosts n Goblins isn't that much different than the NES version.

Ghouls n Ghosts is a HUGE improvement over the original. The Genesis version is really close port, just less colors in the backgrounds

There was a SNES exclusive sequel Super Ghouls n Ghosts which is good but I perfer Ghouls n Ghosts.

if they had an arcade version fo SGnG, I would have a dedicated for it.
Even GnG is pretty good and makes for a really nice looking dedicated.
SGnG is one of my favorite games ever.

Ghouls n Ghosts is what I played...Maybe that's why it was such a shocking upgrade after playing Ghosts n Goblins on the NES/C64

Wonder how difficult it would be to have a custom rom burned for a Super System cab(No I don't own a SS, but it too is in my ever growing list of "wants") :D

C64 Ghosts n Globlins (What I played as a kid)

While I still love the SID powered audio in the C64(listen to the whirling sounds around 0:23), I still say Ghouls n Ghosts arcade version FTW! :D

That Super GnG looks like an awesome port BTW.

man that C64 is just a horrible port.
What's funny is I just listed a GnG w/ JAMMA adaptor FS today and it sold after I just refreshed the posting. It was priced to move however.

Man don't tell me that :/ I always seem to be a day late on things like that :p

C64 was a pretty bad port as far as graphics, but IMO the sound is incredible. You have to keep in mind the C64 was released in '82 with a 1Mhz processor and 64k ram.
When I finally got an NES in '86 or '87, I thought I was in heaven, but before then it was all about the C64...lots of arcade ports(many were awful, but many were better than Atari or even some of the NES ports at the time).
