Ghouls 'N Ghosts PCB - Original?

yeah i remember I think the users name on ebay was "epayrob?" something along those lines, dude would literally list 2-3 Ghouls and Ghost boards every week and get 200-300ea for them sometimes more.

I looked at some of his history and clearly for a RARE board... he seems to have alot of them ... or perhaps he's just buring chips ? I probably missed a bunch... I just remember seeing him list them all the time

Well I Fing need one so I wish he would sell one to me!

contact him on ebay...I'm sure he wouldn't mind making money again. I wouldn't doubt if he is a member on here but don't know his user name if he is. Just bare in mind you would likely be getting another game with him doing the dirty work of swapping roms etc... It's technically running on the original hard ware, but still not a 100% original board... But only you would know that.

other boards to look for :

1941 Counter Attack
3 Wonders
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs
Capcom World 2
Captain Commando
Carrier Air Wing
Dynasty Wars
Final Fight
Forgotten Worlds
Ghouls N Ghosts
King of Dragons
Knights of the Round
Magic Sword
Mega Twins
Mercs
Muscle Bomber Duo
Nemo
Pang! 3
Pnickies (Jap)
Punisher
Quiz and Dragons
Rockman (Jap)
Street Fighter II Championship Edition
Street Fighter II Hyperfighting
Street Fighter II World Warriors
Street Fighter II: Rainbow Edition
Strider
U.N. Squadron
Varth
Warriors of Fate
Willow

I'm pretty sure these are compatible to do the rom swap with, but again not sure...

IMHO, some of those eBay prices are way way too high for a boot / conversion board.

If I wanted a CAPCOM boot / conversion board, I'd PM Mitsurugi-w about it.

He's a member here. http://forums.arcade-museum.com/member.php?u=43576

And he's got a lot--and I mean a lot--of CAPCOM games. I'm sure he has more than a few boot boards laying around. ;) / :)

I'm actually trying to figure out how to build a bootleg board (US roms) for myself. I can't get myself to spend so much on a bootleg and I have a spare HF board that could be used for the conversion. My only issue now is figuring out how to get the PAL 16V8 chip burned for the dam63b.1a file.

Basically you need a HF board and 14 chips burned.

Ebay Prices

Thanks for the input, after plugging it in, it is the japanese version, but definitely original according to the info. Considering how hard they are to come by, I don't mind that it's Jap.

There are lot of people on ebay that bid on boards that don't know what they're getting into, I know, because I was one of them. It should be the resposibilty of the seller to say if it's bootleg or not rather than not saying anything at all. I do notice though that when there is a big discrepancy with prices it usually is from a seller willing to ship worldwide as opposed to US only. I always email the seller and ask if they don't mind shipping to Canada and 90% say ok. I do find I get those boards cheaper than ones made available to bids outside the US.

What I love is when an item goes for a crazy amount and then everyone and their brother list theirs expecting the same price.

Most of the ones that I've seen say "eprom conversion with original CPS1 hardware" or something to that effect buried in the description. It seems like a fine print disclaimer, technically correct but unless you know a lot about these boards I doubt you'd realize that it's a bootleg conversion.

I as well would like to know how to do this and a 1941.
Must be a hack to use no PAL, or a different one?

I haven't done a conversion but I've read that GAL is to PAL as eprom is to mask rom. So you could burn the mame image for the PAL onto a GAL and be in business...?

Is 1941 a hard game to get a hold of too?

I know Ghouls 'N Ghosts is the most sought out of the two games, but how much does Ghosts 'N Goblins typically run? I got an original boardset laying around that gets no love....

In general, eBay does not allow auction listings for counterfeit, knockoff, bootleg, or pirate goods. If they find out that your auction goods are fake, then they either pull your listing or void your transaction.

So eBay sellers use vague and technical language like that to get around the eBay listing rules and also give their buyer some sort of idea what kind of merchandise they will be receiving. The idea is that, if all goes well, then the buyer will not complain to eBay / PayPal when they receive the bootleg goods.

After all, some people do want to buy a revived or a boot board (for whatever reason). So, if the buyer is happy, then eBay / PayPal is happy.

I would be happy buying one of the Ghouls N Ghosts conversions. I don't really consider them bootleg since its original hardware.

Heh, I said it before, Soooo, I'll say it again:

That's cool, cause GNG boots don't cost much to make--about $100 (low. end) and $125.00 (high end), give or take $25.00 depending on the price of parts and labor.
