I keep getting stuck on the 3rd elevator stage where the springs jump across. I cant seem to get a pattern to get thru them and up the ladder. any advise??????? thxs

Watch the distance the springs reach. You want to break for the ladder on the spring that lands furthest left, not the fast far reaching springs. You will have to start moving before you determine which type it is so being able to retreat and/or go up the ladder while looking at the spring and not Jumpman is key.

In the second elevator stage I look at the springs bouncing by the ladder.
In the third, and after, I look at the spring bouncing closest to dk. If it lands directly on top of the yellow thing in the floor start running, and time it so it barely misses you.

Good video cleverly, I didn't know that if it was the same spring again it would kill you, I guess I always get lucky :)

There are 3 different types of springs and 2 safe spots where you can stand.

Spring types: There is a "short spring" that lands furthest to the left on its first bounce. There is a "medium spring" that lands just barely to the left of the yellow spot directly above of the up elevator (between DK's legs, ayo). Lastly, there's a "long spring" that lands directly on top of the yellow spot directly above the up elevator. It's kind of hard to distinguish between the medium and long springs so you have to look closely and be careful. It might take a while, but you'll eventuall get a better feel for distinguishing between the springs.

Safe Spots: The first of the two safe spots is at the top of the ladder when you first climb up to the top girder. You can even take a couple steps to the left and still be safe. The spings will always bounce over your head. The second safe spot is on top of the yellow spot above the down elevator. As long as any part of jumpman is touching the right side of that yellow spot you should be safe.

Here's the safest way (that I know of) to get past the 3rd elevator board:

When you climb up the ladder to the top girder get as far to the left on the first safe spot as you can. Wait for the short spring to come out, then run to the spot just in front of the ladder to the girl, this will be directly in front of where short spring makes it's second bounce. As that sping goes over your head make a run to the second safe spot. This is the easy part of the process.

Now that you're at the second safe spot, get as far to the right on the second safe spot as you can. Again as long as any part of Jumpman is touching the yellew spot you're safe. Now wait for a long spring to come out and make it's first bounce. Then as it's going over your head make a run for the ladder to get to the girl, BUT keep your eye to the left of the screen where the springs are bouncing so you that can watch to see the next spring that's coming: if the next spring is a short spring or a medium spring then keep going up the ladder to finish the level; if the next spring is another long spring, then you have to retreat back to the second safe spot. In other words, two long springs in a row is bad.

Frankly it takes some practice and timing to get this down. You really have to get to the third elevator level enough times to become familiar with the springs and the timing of your runs. At first it may seem impossible because springs are flying so fast, but after you get some practice you'll get a grip on everything and be able to make the move at the right time. Things will almost seem to slow down once you get a feel for processing everything that's going on.
