Like a crack junkie... I have to quit cold turkey. LOL This hobby has been soooo much fun and I hate to leave it.... but I am sure I will eventually return for the "hunt".

I hate selling everything off but the economy is what it is. (See KLOV For Sale section)

It's been a pleasure and I have really enjoyed building my collection. I think the room turned out great.

Thanks for the memories and all of the technical/emotional support!

Damn! I didn't see this one coming. Good luck, Aaron......Sorry to see you go...

thanks everyone

Thanks everyone for your comments. Ed, you have been most helpful and you are a great asset to this hobby.

I am getting out for financial reasons and hope to return to the hunt when things turn around.

people do this all the time with cars.. get it, feel like a cool guy around all his friends.. then dump it when no one cares any more.
Not saying thats what your doing, but thats what is most common with cars..

Had a buddy do that because he needed money to pay bills... diddnt know a brand new 1400 mac book counted as a bill..

the way i see it, the money is spent. If I need it I will get it some other way..it would
have to be really bad for me to unload my few games or my car..

Dont get me wrong.. if it was lose a house or lose some games, the games would be gone.

Good luck, hope all turns out well.

Why don't you sell most the games but keep the two that are your favorite ?

First off, I didnt get into the hobby to impress anyone else but myself. This hobby was totally selfish and a way for me to bring back memories.

Secondly, yes, it does come down to a house or losing some games.... so the games are going. I am listing them here before putting them on Ebay out of consideration for the hobby and KLOVers.

Finally... thanks for the good luck wish and all will turn out well - I know it and I know myself well enough to know that I am a survivor.

Sorry for sounding like an A$$ but I wanted to clarify that I did not get into this hobby to be "cool guy". If anything, we in this hobby know we are all "nerds" and that "nerds" rule the world now. LOL

I totally understand. I am getting out myself, only keeping a couple of games i feel would be hard to replace later on if i get back in, and don't play well in mame.

I don't know of anyone getting not this hobby to be cool. Sounds like a moronic assertion to me. I'd go with the the recommendation to keep one or two of your favorites, if possible. You can make sacrifices without losing out entirely. Whichever you choose good luck with the house and recovery.

This economy and its impact is really starting to suck bad. We're going into 2011 with basically no improvement at all. I lost a job I was at for basically 10 years (as I've mentioned here before) in March of 2008, and the one I have now is making things really difficult for me and my family. I've had to sell some of my most prized possessions over the past 2-3 years to keep the boat afloat (that includes some of my games) and frankly I'm really getting tired of it. Things I have worked all of my life to acquire I now have to give up because a company that I was dedicated to cut a bunch of us, to just fatten up their bottom line. And while there are many others out there in even worse shape than me, I have to watch the news and have them lie to me, telling me how much BETTER things are getting, and at the same time, seeing how much of my tax cash Obama is using for him and his wife to sail the seven seas. I am so sick of this clown.

Sorry, just had to vent, because I totally hear what the cowboy is saying. I just personally am getting tired of having to give up things I've busted my ass to earn or learn how to fix, simply bc our goverment can't get their head out of their ass.

Sorry to hear you are getting out. I thank you for not blaming us (KLOV in general) for your reason of getting out like shardian did!

Sorry to hear about it man... it's one thing to quit because you want too, it's another to quit because you're practically forced. The economy really is killing everything that's awesome, I kept believing "it will get better soon" when the media told me but I'm realizing now that, if anything, it's still getting worse. Sorry about your games, I hope you'll be able to return with a vengeance (in a positive way, of course :) ) when things (hopefully) get better in the eventual future. At least for you it's only financial and not that your whole life is falling apart around you like what apparently happened at Luna City... it's been said that things have to get worse before they get better, so keep on going with the dream of having more games than ever before when the time comes. Godspeed.

you can sell everything and make a nice mame machine to play all the games and relax
its all about gaming anyway
good luck to your life :)

Not this hobby, the car hobby. ha ha

I wasnt saying thats what he's doing, because belive me. I feel for him.
And I dont know him personally so I woulndt judge him for unloading his games
because after all... its just stuff. You dont need it.. but kids NEED food and a place to
live etc.
If anything he's a great person for selling what he has to take care of the important things in life AND for selling to collecters on the KLOV for good prices and not ebaying them for
a bajillion dollars.
