Someone told me I should try nail polish remover. I'm trying to get some really bad nicotine stains off my white Bally/Sente cab. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Dave

I doubt it is nicotine, probably just natural yellowing. Do some google searching for 'retro brite'.

If it is nicotine a good general purpose cleaner will work. I use Formula 409 or Lysol 4 in 1 kitchen cleaner. I just cleaned a Bubbles bezel that I thought was on amber tinted glass it was so coated in nicotine. It took about a dozen paper towels, but I got it all off, except the paper instruction card.

If its clear plastic, it probably yellowed from age and needs to be replaced. If not, then I use Mean Green or Westley's Bleche Wite. The nicotine just rolls off once sprayed on.

Do not use nail polish remover, that will most likely mar or burn the plastic.

If you're talking about one of those plastic Sente behemoths than it is probably the plastic starting to yellow.... I know mine has a yellowish tint; haven't tried cleaning it yet....

I am a newbie so this could be dangerous or harmful, but I have been using either a light peroxide or baking soda solution with a spray bottle to clean up any yellowing on my cabs.

The peroxide works well with yellowed buttons as well, plus it has a thirty minute or so life span so it doesn't deteriorate like bleach.

AFAIK nicotine doesn't stain anything; it's the addictive substance in cigarettes. I think any staining would be due to some other constituient(s) of the smoke. Tar perhaps.

On plastics I just use standard cleaning products (warm soapy water, 409, etc.) followed by Novus.

I have always used Shellite on a rag or for tough stains, a magic eraser. Those things are awesome but be careful, you can remove more than yo intended too if used to vigorously.

I use Awesome (buy it at the dollar store) it will remove nicotine stains and any other grime easily. Then use Novus plastic polish if you have some.
