I thought I'd embark on modeling up a Donkey Kong cabinet. The plans listed at https://www.classicarcadecabinets.com/donkey-kong.html are hard to follow, hard to import/read, and seem to miss a lot of detail. I'd like to supplement this with 3D models made of this cabinet. I found two Sketchup models: https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/mo...e3cf617/Donkey-Kong-arcade-game-Style-B?hl=en and https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/318895d3-804b-4084-a276-7449a5b5a2b8/Donkey-Kong-Arcade?hl=en. Loading these into Sketchup, I see no clear way to get any dimensions out of it. It seems that I can only spin the model around and that's it. Saving it in Collada format and importing into FreeCAD gives me all sorts of trouble. The .DXF files make FreeCAD lock up. The .CRV files won't work because I can't get Vcarve Pro to work on Linux. Suggestions?

I'll toss a quick video together for you tonight on how to look at the DXF files and dimensions. You really need to use the printable plans for most of the cabinets to create the correct profile for the cabinet.

I played with the models from sketchup a few years ago and some how was able to get measurements out (possibly to a known scale) and they were not that close and were much worse than what I had on the website. NOTE: this is not directed at those who have modeled full games to scale, but was from the games that people had created for game room layouts. Anyway, I'll try and get something tossed up later tonight.
