Getting Artwork Scanned- What file format to use

Hi,
Just wanted some advice on getting artwork scanned, by local CQ print shop.
What file format should i get them to put it in ? I intend to touch it up in illustrator.
also when using illustrator do i use CMYK or RGB when working on it ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks

It shouldn't matter. I suppose you will recreate the scanned artwork so that is where the format is key. Use at least 300DPI if you are working in photoshop. Creating a vector graphic is best. There is a free vector program out there called Inkscape. It is pretty easy to use.

Also, check coinopart.com and make sure you're not replicating work that's already been done...

What art are you scanning, btw?
