Getting a NBA Showtime/NFL Blitz Cab out - 2 story walk up

Hey Guys,

I'm getting an NBA Showtime/NFL Blitz cab for some bartering service and wanted to see what your opinions are on getting this sucker out of a 2 story walk up in the City. First and foremost i'm going to remove the control panel so I can get it through the front door. The owner said he had to have 4 guys help him get it over the banister in the hallway and the rest of the way they just used a handcart to get it up the stairs. The monitor on the cabinet is not working but the boards and speakers appear to be fine, just has the monitor issues ("just some fuses"...rigghttt) anyways I got some price quotes from some "man and a van" guys on craigslist. Gave them the whole walk through, pick up the cabinet from a 2 story walk up, drive 20 blocks to my apartment and deliver it up to my place (elevator building) all of the guys are quoting me atleast 3 guys to do it and roughly $125-$150 to move it for me. I know that may sound like a rip off to most but thats the City for you, anyone think that sounds about right? In addition to taking the control panel off, I wanted to remove the monitor from the cabinet. I have a pretty good grasp on how to remove it and everything and figured it would shave about 80-100 pounds off of the cabinet weight. Can anyone else think of anything I can do to get this thing out or reduce the weight to something manageable? I figured if I could take the monitor and panel off, maybe I could use a hand cart with one other guy and get it down the staircase. What do ya think?

only thing i'm thinking that can be the issue is getting it over the banister..the hallway is tight and I dont think I can sneak it around the corner of the banister. I'm thinking we have to lift it over to get it infront of the staircase

Take all the internals out and maybe you can let the bannister protrude into the cabinet? Hope that makes sense.

ah good call, maybe if I take the coin door off or something it can swing around that hah

the isolation transformer remove that as well (if it's an isoless monitor don't worry about removing the power supply and power brick it won't save you that much weight).
