well i went to play my getaway and it said pinball missing and game started it fires all the balls.well i did a switch test and figured all of row 7 isnt working since none of the switchs worked or did any thing when i touched them.i also did the plug remove testing and found for sure the row is dead. i get no reading on plug j206 the purple and white wire. so i guess since chip u19 controles switch rows 5.6.7.8 i will replace this chip if no help.then i will replace chip u20 that control the switch matrix what do you think im i on the right track thanks

Did you verify D9 or R63 are not open? Continuity from connector to diode to resister to chip? Easier to change them than the IC's.

Not your case this time but I've seen alot of those little caps ( C3 - C 10 ) get flakey and pull a switch line down low enough to turn all the switches in a column on. Test with power on and voltmeter black on ground and red at the anodes of diodes.

well i did the diode and resistor test none where bad so i replaced ic chips u17,u18,u20,u19.the only one left in the scamatic that i didnt replace that in that row would be u13 should i replace it any ideas would be appreciated. P.S to clear thing up its plug j208 not j206

From looking at the schematics, D9,C9, R63, R64, R33, IC19 and IC13 are the only things involved. Do the input pins of U13 pins 5, 7, 9, and 11 all read the same voltage wise? How about the input pins of U13 pins, 2, 4, 6, and 8? Check those readings with the connector removed from 208 and with it on. Compare the readings.

well i think i found the problem it was the u13 chip i replaced it and now the game works but playing field light are stuck on.i was sent the wrong chip so the right one on the way.i hope this will solve that problem.thanks every one for your help
