Have a chance to pick one up. Love the art on it,
But how is the gameplay?
And what's the rate on one one these??

I've only ever played it on the Gottleib Collection for GameCube but it was a heck of a lot of fun. And the sounds are great.
I say go for it.

I bought one last year for $950 in great condition. It's a widebody and has good strategy in my opinion. I loved having it, but nobody else would play it. No guests liked it at all. I could tear it up often, but if you're looking for a game with long ball play, this probably won't make you happy.
I sold it for what I paid for it to replace it with my W IJ, so I guess you can say I don't miss Genie too much!

Thanks for the input thus far. Leaning in favor so far, how good is the Pascal board upgrade? I always loved the art of this era.

Mine had the board upgrade already so I can't compare. It was a trouble free pin. I guess the one thing I didn't like about it was the slow play. I could have tilted it up some more to speed it up, but I never got around to it because of it's replacement. I like my machines to play fast...

really dig the "english" of the slow movement of the ball around and around the playfield

one of my favorite games
love most of the Gottlieb sys 1 games
at one time i had 3 GENIE'S but now im down to 1

Great game for the price

I used to have six of them, I am down to two now though

Tough to keep track since I went off my meds and I see double sometimes maybe Splatt will lend me some of his.

i had one for a long time. i like the game play , there is a lot to go for. its tough to hit the right targets for the extra ball, the mini playfield, the bonus collect, and many others. as far as slow game play, use a ceramic pinball . 2/3 the weight of a steel ball, the game flies with it. the upper flippers struggle a bit , but with the lighter ball, they work fantastic. i also had both the orig and pascal boards. the nice thing about the pascal is the skill shot you dont get with the orig board. if you have a working set up, stick with orig. the game doesnt pull enough money even with pascal boards. i sold a very nice one with the 4-1 pascal for 950.00 . i was disappointed in that.

One of my all-time favorite games. It's very large - I think wider than the Bally/Williams Superpins. It's got a lot going on. The ruleset isn't deep, but it's a very fun game to play. The key is setting it up right and how you handle the rubber around the upper flippers - the proper way to do it is to put single ring rubbers on the posts next to the upper flippers (I see some people put a ring that goes around the lane and the pin - that's wrong and makes the upper playfield much easier). The artwork is classic.

The Pascal board upgrade is a must. The Pascal board adds a bunch of new features in addition to removing batteries: skill shot, ball saver, playfield animation/attract mode, high score initial entry and top 5 memory, etc.

One of my favorites, I wish I could find one for a reasonable price or someone who was willing to trade for other stuff. I always seem to get beat out on the good ones. Good old school drop target play.

Looking at the pictures I'd say it's a "super widebody"... same width as Atari Superman or Bally Future Spa...

I want one that size, really want Future Spa. Personally, I find the theme hilarious and the cabinet colors are very wife-friendly, as well as it just looks like a fun game to play.

Fun fact: The genie was used on the logo for Texas Pinball Festival 2011.

Another Gottlieb game is being used for the logo this year as well.

I have a Genie and it will most likely be the Pin I will always keep.

I have the Pascal board in it and it also has Chimes.

As far as I am concerned it is the coolest art on any pin I have ever wanted to own.

I love playing High Speed a bit more, but surprisingly I play Genie probably as much. I actually have grown to really love the gameplay.

definitely ranks up there with the best pinball art of all time in my opinion. i love mine but it definitely is a more "laid back" game compared to my firepower for instance. adjusting the playfield angle made a huge difference when i thought it was playing too easy.

Ok, I have decided to pull the trigger on this one, will pick up in a few days. Thanks for the opinions.
Pretty stoked will be first "new" pin in a long time.
Pics to follow! :)

Pick up time with my #1 partner ;)
Playfield is incredibly clean, only on spot of wear above top bumpers. Can't wait to get it home and running!
