im going to be doing a service call next week for a guy that had his games hit by a power surge/lightning..

vide wont be a prob but he has a jap token slot too that supposedly got hit, but from what hes describing im not so sure..

he says if he powers on everything lights up and comes to life, but when he drops tokens in they all reject back to him so he cant play..

anyone had that issue? im wondering if the hopper isnt just low on tokens

Just thinking about it...I'm pretty sure the diverter solenoid diverter clicks on once the board powers up, could need a new board.

And to think....I threw one away 2 days ago.

most likely needs to be reset. sometimes if machines are left off for too long, this happens. there's a seperate key besides the door key for this. open the machine up and locate a key hole, usually on the power supply. with the machine off, insert the key, turn it, then turn the machine on. it should be in the reset/odds setting. either on the front or somewhere on the inside there should be an LCD with a number on it(if it needs resetting, usually it's on 1). changing the number to 6 will make you win more, so i'd do that while you're in there. to do this, there will be a small button, usually on the door somewhere under the reels. to set the odds, hit the spin lever. lastly turn the key back and take it out. this should do it.

I know that if the game is in certain modes, the coins all get rejected... and if the coin mech isn't hooked up properly, it's the same deal. I have one machine that will switch from 'coin mode' to 'credit mode' whenever you push the payout button.. so you can only put in 3 tokens at a time. Could be that, too. I agree that you should check the easy stuff (i.e. reset) first.
