I'm noticing that everything on my galaga has been grounded with a mixture of green stranded ground wires in the harness and also steel tape with yellow insulation on it.

A couple of items look like they are double grounded, both with the steel tape and with the stranded green wire.

Why did they use the steel ribbon? Cheaper? More durable?

Why are some things doubly grounded?

Can the steel ribbon be replaced with regular wire? If so, what gauge? Is OK to use solid wire in these games or should it be stranded?

THANKS

I'm not sure why they used steel ribbon in these games. As for the double grounding, maybe one of the ribbons had a break in it, so someone attached a wire instead? There's no reason to double ground it otherwise.

I use stranded green 18 AWG wire when redoing the grounds in my games.
