Ok..The Star Wars I picked up awhile back has only ever had a cap kit installed. The game is running fine now and I don't usually go in for messing with a working game...but.. Are there certain reccomended upgrades to keep the game reliable ?

Well that would depend on the monitor. I have a rebuilt wg6100 in mine and over all it's a solid game and never had any issues with it since I put that monitor in. It always fires up just fine. I also put Spaeth's ESB/SW kit in it, no problems at all. VS a Tempest or a Battlezone it is a very reliable game.

Where can I get corner protectors for the bottom of the cab?

The main killer of any vector is heat. Depending where the game is located consider running with the back door off and/or get a fan/s on the HV and if Amplifone on the deflection board as well.

A good thing to install is the LV2000 for the K6100's.
