General question on a 13" vector monitor

Both sides

There should be an insulator cap on both sides. If there's not, or if your insulator has a little split in it (like mine!), you'll get arcing.

I just ordered a new HV Diode and hope that will fix my problems with the 15v2000 I'm working on. Everything else is good except I'm not getting enough voltage to the anode cap.

So, did it work for you?!

You should be able to silicone the end without the insulator, just make damn sure it is dry before powering it up.If you have any bad go7 or any other flybacks you can cut up the suction cup thingy, and use a piece of it as an insulator.

Well... I had a little mishap with the diode I received..the lead from one end broke clean off and I couldn't use it. I'm waiting for a replacement which should be here within the next few days.

I do have another chassis I can cannibalize ...will try it when I get the new diode

BTW - the centering of the picture is done by rotating tabs on the yoke...

Cool..I was not aware of that...

thanks guys..appreciate the tips,

finally got my replacement diode and installed it. cant test it tonight but all went well and I finally found an actual use for my old matsushita from my pole position... clipped the lines from the flyback and used the insulator cups on the ends of the lines.. and here I thought matsushita monitors were completely useless! :D

******SOLVED******

The HV Diode was in fact the cause of the blooming and shaky screen. And per Modessitt's hint, I was able to center the screen. Thanks for all the help
