OK, I apologize for not knowing the model of the monitor... Yet. It's not in my possession but I believe I'll know tomorrow. I did see the monitor turned on and it has 2 curious issues, 1) I can't get it to center horizontally on the screen no matter what adjustment I use, it seems to keep to the left leaving a 1" border on the right. Also, it seems to "pulse" occasionally and then it will flicker and stop pulsing for a moment..then start again (by pulsing, I mean the picture gets bigger..then smaller..not by a huge degree, but it's definitely noticeable ). Is this a cap kit waiting to happen or should I be looking elsewhere? Not extremely familiar with vector monitors but have worked on one in the past.

Any insight you might share is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

You should do a cap kit anyways, and reflow the solder joints on the connector..and look for burned connectors..and solder joints in general.

The blooming could be the HV diode?

"BLOOMING"! that's the word I couldn't think of! Thanks, I will check the solder joints on the connector and check the connector itself. Thanks joeycuda.

Need to replace the HV Diode as well, I don't know a resource for it but I know there were sellers at some point on eBay mfg. them from China. That most likely will fix your blooming problem.

OK..thanks. I'll see what I can find. I'll get the model # and look up the part...see what's available.

Toolguy..what monitor do you have in the ad cabaret? All I see are G05's listed for the cocktail, but I swear I saw a WG sticker on the tube .. now I know some of the uprights used 19V2000, but this is a 13" tube. Any idea what it might be?

Sorry I just saw this now... I have a GO5 13" in mine.

you have a 15v2000

ah, thank you! I've been using the diagrams for the 19v2000 as the board numbers match up but nowhere on the chassis does it mention what it is... frustrating.

In an effort to fix, I was pulling it apart to check the HV Diode. As I was taking the boards apart, I noticed the cable that connects the flyback to the anode cup was connected by a single thread. As I lifted the high voltage board out, the cable fell apart. Can this be "reconnected" somehow or do I need a new flyback w/ cable & anode cup? And..is this weak cable possibly the cause of the blooming?

That would definately cause the blooming you described. You will have to order another H1809 from either arcadechips or arcadeshop. You will have to solder it in,since obviously the springs are gone.Make sure to use the insulating caps on the end of the diode and have the band facing the right direction.

ok..ordered the H1809 from arcadechips. I think I get how this assembles now. I'll give this a shot and see what happens. thanks vctrcollectr

So how closely does it match up with the 19 inch version?

As far the Amplifone goes, it's fairly close. They did move the HV section to the Deflection board however.

OK..got the diode...and I'm about to start the repair. you mentioned insulator caps ..but I think there was only 1 (the side of the diode that has the white band) ..the other side was out in the open and soldered to the "ball" ... does that sound right? or should I have an insulator cap on both sides?

thanks,
