General question about Steel Talons

I emailed about it but they never got back to me on a price. Played it once and it was kind of fun.

I used to love it back in the day. The seat thumps when your chopper gets shot. You could play against the CPU or head to head against another player.

The graphics aren't the greatest, but it was still lots of fun. You thinking of picking up the one off CL?

If I had the space I'd get one. They usually go pretty cheap because of their size.

Yeah, his price range is decent, for sure.

he did say he wants to sell it to someone who will appreciate it, rather than try and profit from it.

I figured size would have a ton to do with the price.

I have one and love it! You can play for hours in the "head to head" mode. Vs the computer get old after awile but is still very fun. It comes apart in two sections but watch out for the upper supports as they tend to break off if they are not held up by the main part of the cab.

This is one of my "bucket list" games, games I want to have and enjoy before I die! While space isn't a big deal (I'll MAKE it if I have to), finding one in good condition close enough that I could go get it (CA, NV, AZ, UT...), hasn't happened as yet. Closest I found was TX, and that just couldn't work without transport $$$....

Good luck and I for one would be interested in what it took to get the job done, assuming you buy it...

Well... an unfortunate update on this situation. I figure I'll post about it, since a few were watching.

The person who posted the game on CL was doing so for a friend who was moving.

The owner of the game didn't have anywhere to store it after his move, so he was selling it.

I just got an email stating the owner has found a place to put the game, and opted not to go through with selling it.

I'm confident the guy is being honest. I'm not too worried about it, anyway. Saves me gas money and a trip.

As for price tag. I was going to get it for $100

Awwww. Sorry about that, dude. I've had similar things happen, one guy was going to sell a widebody Mario Bros for 250 as "working", but then it got bought by a guy and was returned it was found to be broken, but the guy mentioned it was a widebody so the seller told me he was going to fix it and sell it for 500+ in a year or so. I kept my money and bought a Virtual On :D

Leave your name and number with the message that if he changes his mind you'll buy it for the $100...

Who knows, he may change his mind about keeping it and give you a call.

Yeah, he said he'd let me know. But, I'm not too worried about it. Would have been cool, but I was kind of going out of my way for it.

It is a big game. Couldn't say if it is fun or not but there was a guy semi local who's company had worked on the game design in some way or another. He had an office use only game that was either early run or a prototype. He couldn't sell it for $40. I assume it's not that great a game. I could be wrong though.

It's definitely fun, but the graphics weren't that great back in the day, and I'm not sure how they'd hold up now. I used to love playing it back when I first got my license and could drive to the arcade.

Mike

you should post where in CA you are. Since your willing to travel, that will help..

I have had several chances to get steel toliets in the past. Just don't have the heart to get them to kill them for the monitors. Been offered free cabs minus the monitors too. Next time one pops up, I will let you know.

As for the game, I am sure you should be able to find one for monitor value, so figure $200-$400.
