I may have a chance to pick up an Americans bowler. Not having worked on any EM machines, how hard will it be to trouble shoot. Is there a good site you can recommend for a good overview of what I may be getting myself into?

This would be a good place to start to give you some idea what you might be dealing with: http://www.pinrepair.com/em/

The troubleshooting process can range from super easy to major pain in the arse, depending on what kind, and how many problems, the game may have.

If it comes with a schematic, that would be a super bonus and could be handy. Schematics can be hard to track down for those. Lack of a schematic doesn't have to be a deal breaker tho.. if the price is right!

Excellent. Thanks for that link.

The price seems right so I'm going to go take a look at it. I found a site that has the schematics for sale.

The only problem I have is where to put an eight foot long machine while I work on it.
