Gen Z ChatGPT Arcade Troubleshooting

I guess we will never know because you refuse to answer a simple a question.

Has anyone just flung themselves out a high rise window in the middle of a conversation with you?

Hehe.

Hey Andrew is it raining outside?

Do you think it is raining outside?

Never mind I will just jump off the roof.

No, because most people have no problem reading when I point them to the thing they're missing, and don't want to be spoon fed.

Points to anyone else here who can figure out what maberle is missing.

This was actually a super dumb topic. As someone in that age range, I don't understand why you needed information in such an informal way. The concept AI needing to talk in a way that is apparently relatable "to young folk" is dumb and a waste of your time. It bothers me that electricity was wasted making these responses.

I don't get this shit. I'm 25 and I don't get how people talk like this. It's turning my brain into Jello with every word I'm reading.

We're really scraping the bottom of the toilet bowl, if we're this exhausted for topics on KLOV.

I think it makes more sense if you can stomach browsing tiktok a bit.

The thing companies like Google are not talking about (and that you never see any stories about) is that this is one of the MAIN reasons all of these companies are developing these AI chatbots. Even though none of them admit it publicly.

Google realized years ago that people mostly stopped googling knowledge. That was the foundation they built their ad-driven business model on, and it was rapidly going away. We've seen this behavior reflected in this community, which is a microcosm of the rest of the world. But you see it everywhere else, too. We had the world's information at our fingertips, and people just don't want to search for it.

Facebook undercut Google by training a generation to 'just ask your friends' instead, and creating push-model feeds that shovel content in front of you, instead of having you be part of the process. And we've seen what that produces, in terms of quality of information.

So these companies are now putting all of this effort into 1) Sucking all data from the internet into their models, and 2) Making an alternate interface that the younger generations might be more willing to interact with, which is more like 'asking your friend'. Because most people act like maberle above, and don't want to do any actual work to find and read information, even when given links that point directly at answers.

People literally want it read to them. So that's what these companies are making.

Lmao anyone that actually believes

1) I use an LLM for arcade repair
2) actually meant I needed that "translation"

is one:
apparently really bitter

Two:
Needs to lighten up

Nobody in my age range actually talks like this. I had a conversation with the GPT to test its responses. I work with several small and large companies in leveraging custom corpus LLMs for a slew of cyber threat intelligence collection and analysis requirements. These models assist analysts working in several 24 hour SOCs at many three letter agencies and private corporations to defend ALL your information in this thread and keep very shitty people from abusing it.

Jesus Christ it's not that deep. Also remember this is a forum about video games for adults. It's really going to be okay. 🤣

@Olexo2424, I don't think anyone is targeting you that specifically. (I'm not, anyway). And I know you were just testing it to see what it would say, and you posted it for fun.

That's not the thing you're seeing people react to. So don't take any of it personally.

Oh I know. I'm just worried about everybody's panties and don't want to see them all in a wad.

Just remember people nobody gets out of this life alive!

is this a luddite or a boomer thread?

i would acknowledge the luddites are 10000% right in principle, but, and in this case we'll focus on AI, it doesn't really matter because it's here to stay and will continue to become a bigger part of each of our lives. it already is at several levels above us throughout finance, education, governance, et al.
unless you go full Kaczynski, it's too late

but whether it's "bussin'" or "mid" ... well ... that's subjective i guess

So I'm not saying I use GPTs or LLMs for arcade purposes but my company has access to(which means I do) a private, pro workspace containing models o1, o3-mini more skilled at reasoning, and o3-mini-high to assist engineers (like myself) to breakdown highly complex full stack coding for our web apps. We also have access to 4.5 GPT which showcases the research preview OpenAI is putting out. So I put it to the test with sample questions a hobbyist might come asking it. The big deal about 4.5 is its extensive scraping of human-based research across as many sources as it can find on the open web, many of which you can actually see come from here. If they stay on this path with 4.5 GPT and further, maybe not so much the o1 LLMs, we may actually see a highly viable option in obtaining very useful information for arcade related tasks. Here's me asking it how to accommodate for wood aging and how T-molding no longer fits in the increased size groove. It's interesting to see the evolution. This was one of many cited quick and more in-depth fixes it offered me based on the tools I had that I fed it, what type of wood the cabinet was made of, what type of fix I was looking for, etc. All of which it prompted me for first. 🤷‍♂️
