gear makers

Its just a round vinyl / some type of plastic gear off of an old carousel jewelry box. The gear turns a cam, that raises and lowers the horses.
I'm trying to help a friend repair a family heirloom. Knowing how resourceful everyone on the board is, I thought I would ask.

Anything is small numbers is going to be expensive. The cheapest route is to buy a stick of gear stock and cut to length then drill your bore. If you dont have a lathe you probably wont have good results.

If you have the old gear, and can glue it back together, www.micromark.com sells stuff to make molds and cast a new one.. even in metal.

Is it a straight gear or a sprial gear ? If it's straight, I could probably wire cut you one. Got a picture of it ?
