Noel dropped off the Gauntlet Dark Legacy yesterday. I wasn't home so he had to drop it into the garage. So I got it out this morning and hauled it in. I never played it in the arcade, but it is very cool.

It is a big (27") monitor. It is a little fuzzy. I need to tweak the focus. I degaused it to take care of some color shifting in the corners. Next will be to load the manual and find out how to put it into free play. The coin slots are set to 1/2 credit per coin now. That is a pain.

The pictures don't show it, but there are a couple of dings from moving over the years (according to the plate it was built 12/98, I didn't think it was that old) and some crinkles in the artwork, but overall it looks amazing.

It is extremely heavy too. I had to pull the control panel to get it throught the front door. And get a neighbor to help tip it up onto the dolly. I can muscle it up on teh dolly by myself sideways, but it is so deep I don't have enough weight to tip it up from the back. Needless to say, it is not going up into my gameroom. It is a first floor game. :)

I understand your pain. I too am out of room downstairs and the last thing I want to do is haul an arcade game upstairs. Maybe just the Nintendo cabs to start.

I'm with you 100% on the weight - I moved one of those once to get to another game in a storage space - it's a lot like my MKII if you don't have a high-back dolly it's a son of a bitch getting enough weight behind it to tip it. Looks great and a great find - a lot of people LOVE that game.

Damn Ken, my Pepsi machine weighs less than that monster. It takes up less space too.

At least you and your family can live in it if you have to.
