Hey guys,
I'm an daily reader of this forum but this is the first time I've ever posted!
I live in Australia and collect SCART televisions for use with MAME. I use GroovyMAME to play all my favourite games at native resolution and refresh rate using the RGB input of my SCART televisions. Looks and sounds amazing!
I know that this forum is focused on "real" and classic hardware as opposed to emulation but I figured I'd stick my neck out and post anyway since this is the premier CRT technical forum and I have a few questions I'd eventually like to ask.
Anyway... hopefully I'm not already off side but you should check out my blog to see what I've been up to over the last 12 months: http://scarthunter.blogspot.com.au/
In particular, you might be interested in my modding work. I'm pretty green but I'm pleased with how far I've come in the space of a year: http://scarthunter.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/how-to-customise-scart-tv-for-use-with.html
I'd love to be able to collect actual coin-op machines but I just don't have the space so an awesome SCART TV hooked up to GroovyMAME has to suffice for the moment.
If I don't get chased out of here for being an emulation guy then I like to ask for some advice on tools I should buy for working on TVs and monitors (desoldering gear, meters, etc.)
Cheers!
Dale
