So I just bought a Two-Player Gauntlet - really excited about restoring this.

Went to get the Marquee illuminated and I'm like ah... there is no light, no place for a light, hmmm...

Looking at images online it looks like (maybe) Gauntlet did not have an illuminated marquee?

In the pictures I'm finding it almost looks like the Gauntlet marquee is wrapped with the same vinyl you would use on a CPO?

On mine, now that it is disassembled, it looks like my marquee is simply digital art on a heavier vinyl/plastic type paper covers with plexiglass - don't think this is the way it was on the original machine.

Okay, big project - will take some time - but I could really use help/advice from any Klovers who own Two-Player Gauntlet - kind of a unique machine - fun!

You are correct.
There was no lighting for the marquee on either the 2-player or the 4-player machines.

The original 2-player had a metal marquee holder for the marquee artwork.

I also have more pictures of the 2-player Gauntlet I use to have if you need anymore photographs.

Thanks Shawn1976!

Fair warning: I may have a bunch of questions for you :)

Your marquee looks beautiful - really nice!

So on yours it looks like you do not have the metal marquee holder for the artwork?

So what did you do - did you just wrap it?

It also looks like you have four screws in there - tell me about that (please).

If you look at my pics I (think) I have the metal marquee holder - did the original have some paper/plastic art covered with plexiglass? That is what I have - though mine is repro and the colors are wrong.

Thanks in advance - really helpful

On both of the 4-player and 2-player games the artwork for the marquee was attached to the metal bracket via adhesive on the back of the artwork. No plexi glass at all. The artwork was visible with no covering.

I believe the screws are there to attach the metal bracket that holds the marquee to the game.

It looks to me the plexi and marquee that you have was fabricated to fit where the marquee goes.

Are there any holes around where the marquee is that bleed through to the inside of the cabinet?

Thanks Shawn1976!

Your also missing the smoked plexi covering the monitor.

Really helpful

I do (think) I have the correct metal bracket for the top

Not sure about my bottom piece

Looks like there may have been holes up there where your 4 screws are - but have been filled

The pictures are super helpful and I'm going to keep working with this

But, yes? CPO type vinyl is the material?

Smoked plexiglass for sure - that will be easy

CPO art and side art is going to be a tough one but If I have to find one and scan I will - and I need art for those coin door stickers - so cool!

gauntlet 2 player - UR00001

My marquee is wrapped wood with 2 screws on each side, looks like whats in your pictures.

I removing the g2 overlay that was done over the top of it and there is a nice clean original gauntlet underneath, I am having a hard time thinking this wasn't factory, maybe they changed later in the production run?

my real issue currently (other than the repro art going to need) is that Im 95% sure my monitor has been replaced, has a nanao mc2000s and the bezel doesnt look quite right.

Can anyone help me with some good pictures of the monitor mounting and chassis type, and the front side any closeups of the bezel ideally without the tinted plexi...

Thank in advance

Here are some pics of mine, currently removing the g2 cover.
