I have gotten my Gauntlet game in the garage, a $50 donation. It works and powers up, sound is fine but once you go to the first exit it locks up on the next level. EOM error, will look into that later. The dust is so heavy it is fuzzy in places. I have done a quick once over with a brush to knock some off.

Locks have been drilled out, and the coin doors still have stickers on them from when it was in service. Decent Cab, for the price even with the board issues.

First up is going to be peeling all the black vinyl off, and then some bondo on the corners and then sanding. Anyone know where to get exact vinyl? Also I am looking for t-molding for the cabinet and the CPO. has anyone found correct matches? Please post as I would like to order them this week.

more photos.
The monitor has fair burn but you cant tell when on, original joysticks still are tight and the CPO is in great shape. Looking for any and all advice, would like to have this look brand new when done.

Clean the dust off the PCB with a dry paintbrush, then reseat all the socketed chips, you may find the fault vanishes.

Womble, I have never done any board work, all the games I have worked on either didnt have a board, or it was blown and I just had them repaired or bought new. So my question to you is how should I go about reseating the chips? Just pull them out and put ack in? Any advice would be great!

That is exactly what he is referring to.
There are some of the chips on the board that can be removed.
Be very careful though when you do this due to the legs of the chips being very small and very brittle.
Make sure too when you go to put the chips back in that you line them up as to not bend or break and of the legs of the chips.
As well as remembering how the chip was originally placed in the board.
I can't recall the times that I've tried to rush through re-seeding the chips and bent the legs off of some of the roms. :(
Ya live and you learn.

Good luck on your Gauntlet restoration. One of my favorites.
I've restored around 5 of them.

Congrats on the great purchase! I can't help on the chip reseating but it sounds like Shawn got you straight on that. I had a lot of fun redoing mine and Gauntlet boards do show up from time to time for $100 give or take if you don't get yours fixed.
