Game is now sold.
The game;
I got this as a nonworking special in my home town. Got it home and cleaned it up, and did some minor adjustments, and it fired right up. (the flyback brightness was all the way down) It had some sort of side-protector laminate crap that I removed without damaging the side art. It left behind some old adhesive residue, but I've been getting rid of that with adhesive remover, so I'll update the thread later on with results. So far, it's working wonders.
No water damage of any kind, and everything works. I installed a NOS translite (not a repro) and a new bulb. I took the control panel apart and also deep cleaned all the buttons and surfaces of the acrylic. The joysticks all function and respond very well. The monitor shows no burn, but I believe that to be because the game's attract mode has too much going on for there to be any burn. It's super crisp too.
A lot of what I hear about this system is that it has a lot of failure points. While this game was on location back in the mid-late 2000s, a lot of service tickets revealed that all of the main points of failure have already happened and have been fixed. New (newer) hard drive, monitor serviced and looks great, and I believe some other things. Many of the tickets were simply coin jams. One was for a busted wall outlet, lol.
Overall, I'd give this cabinet a solid 9 out of 10. It's a newer one, so I can't imagine many of these look like Sega/Gremlin wet tissue paper board cabinets yet. It does have some blemishes and what not, but nothing crazy. That weird back door lock piece of metal that sticks out is also intact, if that's any indication this hasn't seen much action.
I'm gonna shoot for 1000 for it, PM me if you have questions about it, or if you want to shoot me an offer. Thanks for looking.
