Got an interesting issue. I have not pulled the chassis yet to inspect but wanted to out out a feeler to see if anyone has experienced this before. I have suspicions and it will definitely need caps as it has not been serviced previously.

Game boots and works fine. At certain random times the monitor will appear to go out, but if you look closely you can see some very dim parts of the image in blue. It also appears like the image is "blown out" like this, as in, the dim blue parts of the image are streaked like you have the contrast and brightness turned up high. I dont hear anything abnormal from the back when the monitor is like this, i see heater glow, and I don't smell any burning(thank god). **Power cycling the chassis (i have it set up currently with a switch, long story im not gonna get into it) while the game is on always fixes the image.

Again, I havent examined anything yet but just wanted to hear any quick thoughts. Probably a cap kit and reflow at minimum.

Thanks! I'll post a picture of it soon

Then it looks like this randomly until a power cycle(game still running as normal with audio the entire time). I turned off the lights in the room otherwise you can barely see anything.

Here is a video of power cycling the crt to restore the image.

if it's an original flyback (may have a Wells-Gardner part number label on it) then your Screen brightness is probably drifting. Focus does it a lot too. gamefixer and I used a ring tester on multiple K7400/7500 flybacks and we found they fail the same way, so it apparently was some kind of design defect? the solution to your problem would be a new flyback. thankfully we have replacements again, or at least I think we still do. lol

Yea thats an original flyback. I won't be able to work on it for a few months due to other obligations but I will fix this later this year. So flyback screen pot drifting! Thanks @mecha! All fail the same way, ugh. Yea, sounds like a design defect. Appreciate the assistance, always nice to get key info before working on something!
