Gauntlet Legends + Dark Legacy Combo CF Kit ! One PCB

I finally finished a proto type of my Gauntlet Legends + Dark Legacy combo kit. This kit allows you to have both games on the same vegas board and change the game by just switching a switch that can be located inside the coin door or where ever else. Right now you have to power down the machine and power back up, there is a way to add a button that does a soft reset and will make it so that you dont have to power down but I need to see how many people have cables going to the reset header on the PCB.
Also at this point I would like to see who is interested in getting one of these kits.
I will start a preoder so I can buy the parts in bulk to reduce cost.
As of now the cost is 135.00 shipped
The rough kit is shown in the pictures below, both games will run on Compact Flash the the CF game cards are included.

YOU MUST HAVE A VEGAS 777 system to use this kit, look at your middle PCB it must be a Midway Games Vegas 777 board, not a DURANGO. Legends will not run on a durango board.
Also these are a rough draft picture, the finished product will look nicer with the connections.
Kit comes with
Boot Rom + Security + CF drive adapter + all wired to a switch.

So who is interested???
You can subtract 15.00 per CF card if you use your own CF card
Price can also be reduced if I can sell a large enough preorder.

Also a Short POLL:
Would you prefer the adapter to plug directly into the board as shown above in the pictures or have a header on it so you can use an IDE cable and connect to the cable.

The reason I ask is becuase the boot rom is so tall the CF drive is actually sitting at a slight angle and not perfectly flat, so it doesnt look 100% professional.

I have both boardsets. So I would have to think about getting the kit and selling one.

I would say longer ide cable. The way it sits on the proto looks iffy.

Do you think you could make your pcb a little bigger so you would have room for pcb mounting feet. Not sure how much it would add to the cost, but it would pay extra to be able to properly secure the pcb.

Will it run with a dark legacy PIC?

It already has a GDL PIC included, its under the Legends PIC in the pictures. So All you will need to do is add a Legends PIC to the kit to make it complete. BUT if I can source the LEgends PICS cheap enough Ill also include it.

I can but it will add alot more to the cost. I have to keep the size to a 4.5x3 (roughly) in order to get the cheaper price without setup fees.If I can get a big enough preorder I can cut the project into two different orders and rearrange the PCB so that I can add holes. If this is the way most people would prefer.
I could even possible make it stick out the other way sit its not over the boot rom. FULLY OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS AT THIS POINT

This is what the PCB looks like before I cut it into three peices to make the kit.
New design added

If it suck out the other way, then you would only need two mounting holes to stabilize it and you could do away with the ide cable.

Is there enugh room to do that ? I dont have a dedicated cab, so I cant tell if the metal plate has anything in the way?

i am interested but my game is on location quite some distance and i can't check to see which board i have (it's a Legends cab with a DL kit installed.)

i also have blown my arcade budget for a while so i'm in no hurry to pay for one of these. :)

metal plate is huge! The whole side is room for a HDD. Here is a pic of vegas plate. The biggiest issue would be the video cable. I would think if you center the 2 smaller pcbs in the blank pcb, you could have enough room for mounting holes on both sides. The minus is, it would be more of a pain to cut them out.

even if you did not change the layout and left the unused part connced the to larger pcb, that 1 mount would be good enough.

The way I have it now its pretty secure, the IDE socket grips the board so it doesn't move at all.

Put me down for one. I checked and I think I am good as I saw the last board said Vegas 777 and it is a dedicated legend cabinet already.

The reset header does not have anything attached on mine.

Funny, that picture you posted has a tenth degree kit on it that I made and sold.

Well thanks to my good buddy Mike Yosha at Arcade Services, I will not have Legends PICS to include with the kits, so they will be complete kits, you wont have to add anything.

I heard rumors that the CF flashes wont work reliable on a Vegas 777 setup?

Wondering any truth to that.
